Cavity filling applications

Formation of rigid sandwich structures.

Rigid PU foam is widely used in boat-building and other marine applications where the closed cell core gives puncture-proof buoyancy combined with light-weight stiffness and impact resistance.

The mechanical strength of the light weight sandwich structures is also used in the construction of cars – (where there is the additional bonus of noise reduction through the prevention of ‘drumming’ in cavities), commercial vehicle cabs, caravans, buses and trains.
